Product Area: Server Technical Area: Server Platform: zSeries
SPR# CGOH5E2PBY - When the environment variable, OS390_DOMINO_SVC_DUMP=11, is set before starting the Domino Server, an LE/RTL abend occurs and the server fails to restart. This problem has been fixed in 6.0.3.

Technote Number: 1163083

Problem:
The OS390_DOMINO_SVC_DUMP environment variable can be set to enable the Domino
SVC dump. The available options are as follows:
1. export OS390_DOMINO_SVC_DUMP=1
Enables Fault Recovery. Used to collect SVC dump information for zSeriesĀ®
servers. CEEDUMPS are not generated.
2. export OS390_DOMINO_SVC_DUMP=2
Used in the event of a Fault Recovery failure and diagnostic data is not being
generated for U034 dumps. This option generates data similar to what the
Domino 5.x zSeries server provided.
3. export OS390_DOMINO_SVC_DUMP=10
Used to collect a CEEDUMP when an EC6 dump is generated.
4. export OS390_DOMINO_SVC_DUMP=11
Used when a CEEDUMP should be collected to access the LE csnap macro.
Note: Prior to Domino 6.0.3, the environment variable "
OS390_DOMINO_SVC_DUMP=11" did not function correctly. This issue was reported
to Quality Engineering and has been addressed in Domino 6.0.3.
Excerpt from the Lotus Notes and Domino Release 6.0.3 MR fix list (available at
http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/lotus):
"SPR# CGOH5E2PBY - When the environment variable, OS390_DOMINO_SVC_DUMP=11, is
set before starting the Domino Server, an LE/RTL abend occurs and the server
fails to restart. This problem has been fixed in 6.0.3."
Domino 7.x also allows for OS390_DOMINO_SVC_DUMP to be set in the notes.ini
file. If the environment variable is set, Domino will use it. If the
environment variable and the notes.ini are set, the notes.ini value is used.
Using the set config command, the OS390_DOMINO_SVC_DUMP notes.ini value can be
set dynamically after the server is started. More >
